The Millstadt Village Board is scheduled to meet Tuesday evening to hear about preservation efforts for the old water tower.
An effort is under way to save the tower, which has stood over Millstadt since 1933. It was replaced by a new water tower more than a year ago and needs $200,000 in repairs.
A group is raising money in an attempt to purchase the old water tower from the village. The Village Board recently voted to begin getting bids for the demolition of the structure.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the village office.
