For the second straight year, the prep wrestling ended in heartbreak for the Edwardsville Tigers on Tuesday at the Class 3A Bloomington Dual Team Sectional.
Lincoln-Way East senior Brendan Ditchman rallied late for a narrow win in the 182-pound match to give his team a 28-25 victory at Bloomington High School.
The Tigers, who advanced to the dual team sectional by winning the Granite City Regional two weeks ago, led 25-22 with two matches remaining. But LW-East won both the 170 and 182 pound matches to win the dual.
Also seeing its season end on Tuesday was Cahokia, which fell to Taylorville 40-29 in the Class 2A Dual Team Sectional also at Bloomington High School.
LW-East and Taylorville advance to the Dual Team State Tournament on Saturday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Normal.
