A Madison County woman has been charged with felony retail theft after she allegedly tried to steal five bottles of vodka from the Walmart store in Godfrey.
Police said Angela E. Watson, 49 of 515 Niagra Street in East Alton, walked into the store Tuesday and put the five bottles of liquor worth $92 in her purse.
According to the Madison County State's Attorney's office, Watson qualified for an enhanced felony theft charge because she was previously convicted of retail theft in 2011. Her bond was set at $20,000.
