BELLEVILLE POLICE
THURSDAY, FEB. 14
9:43 a.m. Harassment by telephone --4400 block of North Belt West. The victim reported receiving numerous disturbing phone messages over the last several days.
1:59 p.m. Home invasion --9000 block of Lebanon Road. The victim reported about 1 p.m., her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend/suspect came to her residence and knocked on the door. The suspect attempted to force open the front door. She broke a window and entered. The suspect punched and kicked the victim. A neighbor entered the residence and separated both subjects. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
4:41 p.m. Robbery -- 200 block of East Monroe. The victim reported he was walking in the 200 block when he was attacked from behind by two males. One held him down and the second punched him about the head and body. The suspects stole the victim's wallet and fled the area on foot.
5:04 p.m. Retail theft -- Target, 5601 Belleville Crossing. Angela M. Heider, 44, was arrested after concealing merchandise and leaving the store without paying for the items. Heider was transported and released after posting bond.
FRIDAY, FEB. 15
1:57 a.m. Battery -- Stoney's, 3001 W. Main St. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers spoke with the victim. He stated the suspect known only to him by his first name punched him in the face. The suspect was gone on arrival. The victim signed a nontraffic citation for battery.
2:17 a.m. Domestic battery, criminal damage to property -- 1000 block of Royal Heights Road. Officers responded to the residence for a battery report. Officers spoke with the victim. She advised her boyfriend/suspect damaged furniture and a wall in the residence after an argument. He left but returned. The disturbance became physical. The suspect walked outside in the presence of officers and damaged the victim's phone by throwing it down onto the street. He was arrested and placed in the patrol unit. The suspect began kicking and slamming his head against the back window. He later complained of chest pains and was transported to an area hospital. Upon release he was transported and held pending further investigation.
9:35 a.m. Retail theft -- Walmart, 2601 Green Mount Commons. William Combs, 25, Patricia Combs, 23, and Bliss McDaniels, 22, were arrested after concealing merchandise and leaving the store without paying for the items. They were transported to headquarters. W. Combs was realeased with a notice to appear. P. Combs was released after posting bond. B. McDaniels was transported to the St. Clair County Jail for an outstanding warrant.
11:11 a.m. Theft from coin operated machine -- Splish Splash Car Wash, 23 S. 59th St. The business owner/victim reported on Feb. 14, unknown person(s) stole U.S. currency from the change machine.
1:41 p.m. Theft -- First block of North 44th Street. The victim reported an ATV was stolen from his backyard.
2:44 p.m. Pedestrian under the influence -- 1400 block of West Main Street. Shawn Tieman, 25, was arrested after being found highly intoxicated walking in the roadway. Tieman was transported and held pending sobriety.
6:31 p.m. Theft -- McDonald's, 4422 W. Main St. Management reported a subject took U.S. currency from a cash drawer that had been placed unattended on the counter.
SATURDAY, FEB. 16
12:43 a.m. Traffic stop, arrrest -- First block of South Belt West. A passenger, Zoe Fender, 19, was arrested during a vehicle stop after it was discovered she was wanted on an outstanding nontraffic citation for battery that occureed on July 13, 2012. Fender was transported and issued the citation and released with a notice to appear.
4:08 a.m. Suspicious fire, possible arson -- First block of East D Street. Officers responded to the report of a vehicle fire. Officers located a silver Ford with the interior smoldering. The Belleville Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire. Fire units advised the fire appeared suspicious and requested a fire investigator to respond to the scene.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 20
Dwight D. Long, 51, of 34 Queensway Drive, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated fleeing of police, violating an order of protection on Feb. 14 by Swansea police. Long allegedly performed a substantial step toward the commission of that offense, in that he, without lawful justification and with the intent to kill Karva N. Pitts, stabbed Pitts with a knife multiple times in the body; knowingly caused great bodily harm to Pitts, a family/household member, stabbed her multiple times in the body with a knife; drove a white 2012 Nissan Versa, was given a visual sign by a police Officer Cheryl Venoroky of Swansea Police Department, who was in police uniform and driving a vehicle which displayed illuminated, oscillating, rotating or flashing red or blue lights, which when used in conjunction with an audible horn or siren would indicate the vehicle to be an official police vehilce, directing Long to bring said Nissan to a stop, willfully fled or attempted to elude the police officer and than when willfully fleeing or attempting to elude the police officer, traveled at a rate of speed 21 mph or greater over the legal speed limit; having been served with the contents of an order of protection on Feb. 4 by the Circuit Court of St. Clair County pursuant to the Illinois Domestic Violence Act, did knowingly commit an act which was prohibited by the order of protection in that said defendant came within 500 feet of Pitts, a protected party.
Michael D. Tarrance, 22, of 3133 Beech Ave., Birmingham, Ala., arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to government property, domestic battery and bodily harm on Feb. 16 by Shiloh police. Tarrance allegedly damaged, without the consent of the Shiloh Police Department, a patrol car window, while the patrol was located at 223 Anderson Lane, Shiloh, which property is supported in part with funds of a unit of local government, said damage in excess of $500; knowingly made physical contact with Crystal Lehnen, a family/household member in that said defendant choked her until she could not breathe and pulled her to the ground.
Edmond E. Walker, 52, of 605 N. Fifth St., Belleville, arrested on suspicion of driving on revoked license on Feb. 15 by St. Clair County sheriff. Walker allegedly drove a 1997 Ford Escort on East F Street in Belleville, at a time when his driver's license was revoked. Defendant had been previously convicted of driving while license is suspended/revoked on Aug. 15.
Robert O. Farnsworth, 38, of 409 N. Fifth St., Belleville, arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance on Feb. 15 by St. Clair County sheriff. Farnsworth allegedly had in his possession less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine.
Kartel L. Battles, 32, of 2711 Market, East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, subsequent offense (two counts), on Feb. 17 by Cahokia police. Battles allegedly made physical contct with Lashonda L. Sims, a family/household member, in that he grabbed her about the body with his hands and sprayed her in the face with mace. Defendant had been previosuly convicted of domestic battery on Feb. 9, 2001.
Charles G. Thomas, 24, of 8536 Oak Hill School Road, Lebanon, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of cannabis on Jan. 11 by O'Fallon police. Thomas allegedly had in his possession more than 30 but less than 500 grams of a substance containing cannabis.
Dorothy A. Brown, 21, of 542 N. 18th St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of cannabis on Feb. 9 by Illinois State Police. Brown allegedly had in her possession more than 30 but less than 500 grams of a substance containing cannabis.

Madison County Circuit Court
Friday, Feb. 15
Livingston residents William Holland, 28, and Tiffany Mims, 24, have been charged in Madison County Circuit Court with unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a peace officer. Holland also was charged with aggravated battery for hitting a jail deputy. Mims' bail was set at $15,000 and Holland's bail was set at $60,000. The defendants also were charged with misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a peace officer.
