BELLEVILLE — Police discovered the lifeless body of a 19-year-old man next to an infant on Thursday afternoon, according to St. Clair County Coroner Rick Stone.
Police received an anonymous call reporting a possible overdose at a home at 312 N. 10th St.
When police arrived, they found Dyilion A. Rojas on a bed with a 6-month-old infant beside him, Stone said. Rojas was dead.
The baby was turned over to a relative's custody.
Stone said an autopsy would be conducted on Rojas on Friday morning at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.
Rojas' death is unexplained, but is being considered a possible overdose, Stone said.
Toxicology tests will be conducted. Results are expected in about six weeks.
