Benefit to help metro-east family displaced by fire

Published: February 22, 2013

A community benefit has been organized to help a Godfrey family displaced by a fire.

The Feb. 12 fire left Mike and Mica Buehlman and their 2-year-old daughter without a home. In addition, Mica Buehlman is seven months' pregnant. The fire destroyed furniture, clothing and supplies for the coming newborn.

The community benefit for Mica and Mike Buehlman is being hosted by Alton Steel Inc. and will be Saturday, March 9 at Hilltop Auction Sales, 2612 Fosterburg Road in Alton. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased by calling 618-374-3397 or emailing lcamp@altonsteel.com. Tickets will remain on sale through March 5.

Organizers of the benefit are also accepting silent auction items. To donate, contact Alton Steel at 618-463-4490, ext. 214.

An account has been set up through 1st Mid America Credit Union to help manage donations being sent to the family. If you would like to make a donation, send checks to Buehlman Benefit at 1st Mid America Credit Union, 5301 Godfrey Road, Godfrey, IL 62035.
