Two metro-east women have each been ordered to pay $3,094.88 in restitution to the state for defrauding the Illinois Department of Human Services.
Lillie Vaughn, 56, of Cahokia, and 46-year-old Madison resident Vickie Deal, Vaughn's personal assistant under the state-paid Health Care Matters program, were sentenced Friday in federal court on one count of making false statements related to the program. Both admitted that Deal did not perform any personal assistant services from July 1, 2011, to July 15, 2011, because Deal was in jail at that time.
Vaughn and Deal had previously pleaded guilty to defrauding the Illinois DHS Home Services Program, a Medicaid Waiver Program. Each admitted making a false statement in connection with the delivery of and payment for health care services.
