Oscar Taveras changes his mind... again

Posted by Scott Wuerz on February 23, 2013

Cardinals top prospect Oscar Taveras, for some reason, has switched agents for the second time in two months.

CBS reports the 20-year-old outfielder has returned to MDR sports after a short defection to agent Rob Plummer.

No word on why Taveras switched... Or why he left his original agency in the first place.

MDR is the agency of fellow Cardinals Yadier Molina and Jaime Garcia who are featured prominently on the company's website. On Saturday morning Taveras' photo was also at the top of the page, so the move apparently wasn't a surprise.

Plummer has a reputation as an agent who specializes in representing Dominican players. He includes St. Louis pitching prospect Carlos Martinez on his roster of clients.
