Belleville crime-free housing task force meets Wednesday

Published: February 25, 2013

— A task force on the proposed crime-free housing ordinance will meet Wednesday.

Members will review feedback from Mayor Mark Eckert and city staff. Task force members turned over their recommendations to city officials in January.

The housing ordinance is designed to address crime in rental properties.

The "working" meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Belleville City Hall, 101 S. Illinois St.

Residents will also get to comment on the ordinance at a later hearing and City Council meeting.

The most recent draft of the ordinance is available on the city's website, www.belleville.net.
