Edwardsville pair is named All-State

The Edwardsville Tigers had two players honored as senior Emmonnie Henderson was chosen to the first team and junior Kortney Dunbar was chosen to the second team of The Associated Press' Class 4A Illinois Girls Basketball All-State Basketball Team.

The 6-foot, 2-inch Henderson averaged a team-leading 15.1 points per game for the Tigers, who ended their season last Thursday with a 41-36 loss to Peoria Richwoods in the championship game of the Class 4A Normal West Sectional.

Henderson is headed to Louisville on a basketball and track and field scholarship.

The 6-2 Dunbar averaged 14.6 points per game.

In Class 3A, Althoff senior Kymber Hill received honorable mention.

The 6-3 Hill averaged 14.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game for the Crusaders. She also had 52 blocked shots.

Hill has signed to play basketball for the University of Massachusetts.
