Thursday weather to be an instant replay of a cold, snowy and windy Wednesday

Published: February 28, 2013

On the last day of February, winter will serve notice that it does not plan to give up easily.

There is a 40 percent chance of snow throughout the day Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. It will basically be an instant replay of the day before with flurries and gusty winds of up to 21 mph, making a high temperature of 38 degrees seem much colder.

The chance of snow increases to 60 percent during the evening and overnight hours. A total accumulation of less than one inch is expected. But roads could become slick as the low temperature dips below the freezing point to 28 degrees.

On Friday there is a 40 percent chance of light snow with a high of 36 degrees predicted. The weekend is expected to be sunny with a high of 34 on Saturday and 37 on Sunday.
