Reginald Petty shows a 500 year-old musical instrument, which he said is the precursor of the modern banjo. He was a guest speaker for Black History Month and spoke during an all-school assembly Thursday afternoon in the Wolf Branch Middle School gym. He also told of his friendship with Dr. Martin Luther King, and related stories from his childhood about the harsh segregation rules imposed on blacks. TIM VIZER — tvizer@bnd.com Buy Photo
