Naming the new bridge. Let us think back when the bridge was still in the talking stage. If you will remember, the Missouri Department of Transportation did not want to even pay for it. They wanted to put a toll on it. Why? Because it would mean that it would be paid for mostly by Illinois residents. They knew that we would be the ones who use it most.

Now they want to grab on naming it the Stan Musial Bridge. That is not my choice. My choice would be to name it after those who have served, are serving and even died serving our country, also those who will serve it in the future: The Veterans Bridge.

I am a World War II veteran and this is my wish.
