SWANSEA — The Major Case Squad has been called in to investigate the homicide of a Swansea woman.
Major Case Squad Deputy Commander and OFallon Police Capt. Jeff Wild said a landlord discovered the body of 50-year-old Carmen Boyd late Friday morning. The body was found inside the womans second-floor apartment at 255 Marcella Drive. Swansea Police initially responded to the scene and called in the Major Case Squad to assist. Investigators did not release other information about the case, including the cause of Boyds death and whether they have any leads.
LexisNexis records show Boyd moved to the apartment building in February last year.
Swansea Police Chief Mike Arnold said this is the first homicide in the village since 2006, when Larry Sicka killed his in-laws, Henry and Dolores Kahle, before Sicka took his own life during a standoff with police in Belleville.
