SWANSEA — A man has been arrested in connection with the killing of a Swansea woman found in her apartment Friday, police said late Saturday night.
Capt. Jeff Wild, the deputy commander of Major Case Squad, said charges are expected to be filed Monday when the suspect's name will be released.
The victim is 50-year-old Carmen Boyd of 255 Marcella Drive. She lived in a second-floor apartment.
Wild said the landlord discovered Boyd's body inside her apartment.
There has not been a homicide in Swansea since 2006, Police Chief Mike Arnold told reporters Friday.
Wild, who is with the O'Fallon Police Department, said more information about the case is expected to be released Monday.
