Published: March 2, 2013

Aggravated battery charges have been filed against two East St. Louis women accused of beating a 78-year-old relative living in the Caseyville Nursing Home and then removing her from the home.

Police were called to the 600 block of West Lincoln Boulevard Friday to investigate why two women were removing a handicapped woman by force, Caseyville Officer Gerard P. Spratt said in a news release.

Nina Dorsey, of the 7000 block of Evergreen Court in East St. Louis, and Julia Tillis, also of the 7000 block of Evergreen Court in East St. Louis, were charged in the case.

Both women are in custody in the St. Clair County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

When Caseyville police arrived at the nursing home, they spotted two women who had taken the patient from the nursing home by force. They were leaving the parking lot in their car, Spratt said. The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital in Belleville for treatment.
