President Obama has misrepresented his latest manufactured crisis. He has traveled the country proclaiming how the sequestration budget cuts will harm Americans.
He is making the cuts as bad as they are on individuals as a political calculation. He's trying to shift the blame from him to the Republicans.
Obama insisted on sequestration as part of a deal to raise the debt limit in 2011. In that deal, the Defense Department, which has 25 percent of the budget, takes 50 percent of the cuts. Are we to believe that defense is the only place where money is wasted? The whole federal budget is full of waste.
By the way, there hasn't been a budget since George W. Bush. Obama hasn't presented one in violation of the Constitution, which requires one at least every two years. The federal government has run on continuing resolutions.
Obama has added $6 trillion in wasted spending to our national debt in five years. None of this added debt went to the military budget.
This debt is financed by Communist China. Obama has saddled our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with an enormous debt that gives them a poorer future.
What is Obama's solution? He wants to raise taxes another $1 trillion and not cut spending.
What a poor choice we made last November.
