Police responded about 1:40 a.m. Sunday to the 100 block of North Ruby Lane after reports of a man injured in the roadway, Fairview Heights Police Lt. Steve Evans said in a news release.

Police found a 33-year-old man with multiple cuts and bruises.

The man said he and Moore were at Moore's residence at 107 N. Ruby Lane when Moore became aggressive. The man said that when he left, Moore chased him and hit him multiple times in the head even after he fell.

The man was taken to Memorial Hospital in Belleville for treatment and later released.
