By now, you’ve probably heard about Pinterest, but you may not be part of the addicted users worldwide YET that spend hours and hours browsing pictures, recipes and crafts.

What is Pinterest.com you may ask? Pinterest basically becomes your personal pinboard of inspirations, likes, and obsessions that you can “bookmark” to go back to when you’re ready to try playing with new eye shadow colors, a new cake recipe, or a wreath for the front door.

Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. You can gather ideas for redecorating or remodeling your home; crafts for your classroom or kids; discover mouth-watering recipes and paradise vacation destinations; plan a party or wedding; get style and makeup tips; and much, much more. Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people you know.

There’s not much to not love about Pinterest, so if you’re looking to have a library of ideas at the tip of your fingertips 24 hours a day, go to www.pinterest.com and check it out on a cold winter day. Just a warning before you register, plan on staying under a warm, soft blanket for hours on end the first time you log on. To sign up for Pinterest, go to www.pinterest.com and select the button “Join Pinterest” at the top of the page. You can register via Facebook, Twitter, or an e-mail address. Once your account is set up, browse and pin and repin away.

What is a pin? A pin is an image added to Pinterest. A pin can be added from a website using the Pin It button, or you can upload images from your computer. Each pin added using the Pin It button links back to the site it came from. If you like a pin that already exists, you can pin it to one of your boards for safekeeping and reference, and allow your friends on social websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, etc., to see.

What is a board you may ask? A board is a set of pins. A board can be created by you on any topic, such as Cool Posters, Recipes For Dinner, or Wishlist. You can add as many pins to a board as you want. It’s a great way to organize your favorites.

To create a new board, click Add+ on the top toolbar on Pinterest, then press Create a Board. Type in a board title, choose a category, and then click Create Board when you are finished.
