Two people were killed Friday afternoon in a head-on collision in Godfrey.

According to Madison County Sheriff's Capt. T. Mike Dixon, the fatal crash happened at 1:41 p.m. on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Godfrey. The two vehicles crashed head on in the south bound lane just south of Godfrey Road.

The drivers of both vehicles were dead when emergency medical personnel arrived.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.

Names of the drivers were not released to the public Friday afternoon.
