Five members of the Edwardsville City Council have endorsed mayoral candidate Barb Stamer.

In an open letter to Edwardsville’s voters, the five aldermen announced they are supporting Stamer to succeed Mayor Gary Niebur, who is retiring after 20 years in office. Stamer has served on the seven-member City Council for 16 years, including nine years as the city’s finance chairman.
