A newly formed group called Rebuild Belleville is hosting a community meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Peachy Yogurt Bar at 200 E. Main St.
Part of the group's efforts will be through supporting Clint Forsythe's plans to renovate derelict homes and apartment buildings, beginning with two apartment buildings in the 200 block of Garfield Street and a home at 400 S. Jackson St.
The group also hopes to host neighborhood block parties, provide youth after-school programs and help residents become financially stable through employment and help with home budgets. City leaders are expected to attend the meeting as well.
