Voters like letter writer Frankie Seaberry are not going to be swayed to the side of the conservatives. She has been hoodwinked and bamboozled by her own Democratic Party.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican, Abraham Lincoln was a Republican and Jim Crow leaders that tried to keep the civil rights laws from coming to pass were all Democrats. The leaders of the most distressed cities in the country are all Democrats. So if she still supports them, then she must be OK with the population being dependent on the Dems to dole out what they think people need.
Forget about being responsible and working, let the government take care of you. The government will give you enough to exist and they will continue to grant themselves their lavish lifestyle while the little people wallow in poverty. The Jesse Jackson Jrs. will continue to take what they think is owed to them and let you figure out how you are going to make it on what little pittance you have.
It is unfortunate that Seaberry and others do not see what is going on. This president we have now has divided this country in ways that I have never seen before. He plays the race card and the blame game and fails to govern.
No one party is perfect, but the premise of working for what you have and not depending on someone else should still hold true.
