The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
BELLEVILLE POLICE
TUESDAY, MARCH 5
5:16 a.m. Residential burglary -- 500 block of South 17th Street. The victim reported between noon and 10 p.m., unknown person(s) forced entry to his residence through a rear door and property was stolen. The victim believes an acquaintance is responsible for the burglary.
11:06 a.m. Traffic stop, aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of a controlled substance -- 1200 block of North 17th Street. An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Mustang. The driver refused to stop. Weather conditions forced the officer to discontinue an active pursuit. But the officer was able to keep a visual on the fleeing vehicle. The driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed. He fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later by responding officers. A search of the vehicle by officers located cannabis and a controlled substance. The driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained prior to this accident. Upon release from the hospital, he was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and held pending further investigation.
1:38 p.m. Criminal damage to property, theft -- 6400 block of West Main Street. The reporting party stated unknown persons stole and damaged air conditioning units located on the roof between Feb. 15 and Feb. 25.
2:29 p.m. Motor vehicle theft, burglary -- 2900 block of West Main Street. The victim reported between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m., entry was forced to his residence through a window where the keys to his vehicle and his vehicle were taken. The victim believes his ex-girlfriend is responsible.
4:15 p.m. Retail theft -- Walmart, 2601 Green Mount Commons. Shandalyn R. Seales, 24, concealed merchandise and left the store without paying. Seales was arrested, transported and held pending bond.
7:54 p.m. Traffic accident, felony revoked, driving under the influence -- South 16th Street at Bunsen Avenue. A witness reported an accident in which the driver exited the vehicle and left the scene on foot. The witness followed while advising dispatchers of his location. Responding officers arrested the driver and transported him to headquarters. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. The driver was processed and held pending felony charges.
8:13 p.m. Traffic stop, possession of a controlled substance -- Lebanon Road at Dutch Hollow. The driver was arrested during a traffic stop after being found in possession of a controlled substance. The driver was transported, processed and later transported to the St. Clair County Jail and held pending further investigation.
9:15 p.m. Violation of an order of protection, resisting a peace officer --500 block of State Street. The victim called 911 stating her husband, Nicholas S. Barnard, 27, drove his truck through her fence and was attempting to gain entry to the residence. The victim has an active order of protection against Barnard. Officers arrived on scene and located Barnard in the yard. Barnard appeared to be intoxicated and failed to comply with officers' orders. Barnard was forcefully handcuffed. He was transported, processed and held pending bond.
10:14 p.m. Aggravated domestic battery -- First block of Ben Louis Drive. The victim reported her boyfriend/suspect allegedly grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground. During this incident, the victim stated their 11-month-old child was in her arms. The suspect was gone on arrival. The victim received treatment at an area hospital. DCFS was notified of this incident.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES
TUESDAY, MARCH 5
Keaton D. Boehler, 20, of 9164 Forest Drive, Fairview Heights, arrested on suspicion of mob action on March 3 by Shiloh police. Boehler allegedly by the use of force and violence, disturbed the public peace in that he, while acting together with Jeremy M. Mixen, 22, of 102 Idle Run Drive, Collinsville, and Shelbi Thomas, 18, of 102 Idle Run Drive, Collinsville, and without authority of law, struck Sharhonda Farrar-Boyd, Brittany Smith and Christopher Echoles.
Jenniece Horton, 30, of 552 Wimmer Place, East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery on Dec. 7 by East St. Louis police. Horton allegedly and by the use of a deadly weapon, a Pontiac Sunfire, knowingly caused bodily harm to Devontae Jimison, in that she struck Devontae Jimison in the body with said vehicle.
Marcus G. Harris, 40, of 670 N. 83rd St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence and unlawful use of a credit card on March 2 by Fairview Heights police. Harris allegedly drove a black 2003 Cadillac STS on North Illinois Street in Fairview Heights, while the defendant was under the influence of alcohol and during a period in which the defendant's driving privileges were revoked.
Katherine E. Burris, 25, of 101 Twin Oaks, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a credit card on June 20 by Fairview Heights police. Burris allegedly with the intent to defraud the issuer, Bank of America Visa, used a credit card which was without the cardholder's consent for the purpose of otaining U.S. currency, total value in excess of $300.
Darren L. Moore, 25, of 107 N. Ruby Lane, Fairview Heights, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery in a public place on March 3 by Fairview Heights police. Moore allegedly and while in the 100 block of North Ruby, a public roadway, knowingly made physical contact of an insulting nature with Camron Patton, in that he hit Camron Patton in the head with a golf club.
Lorenzo T. Henderson, 17, of 223 St. Christopher, Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a handgun under 18 on March 3 by Cahokia police. Henderson allegedly had in his possession a firearm of a size which may be concealed upon the person and said defendant was under 18 years of age.
Montez R. Mairidith, 18, of 259 St. John, Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of reckless discharge of a firearm, endangering on March 3 by Cahokia police. Mairidith allegedly endangered the bodily safety of the public in that said defendant, while acting in a reckless manner, discharged a firearm.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6
Matthew R. Conrad, 25, homeless, arrested on suspicion of burglary on Sept. 23 by Swansea police. Conrad allegedly entered a building, doing business at Tropiano Transportation, located at 2500 Smelting Works Road, Swansea, with the intent to commit theft.
Jason L. Brown, 37, homeless, arrested on suspicion of burglary on Sept. 23 by Swansea police. Brown allegedly entered a building, doing business as Troiano Transportation, located at 2500 Smelting Works Road, Swansea, with the intent to commit theft.
Mekhael M. Drakes, 35, of 323 S. 15th St., Belleville, arrested on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence and driving while driver's license is revoked, subsequent on March 5 by Belleville police. Drakes allegedly drove a beige 1995 Buick Park Avenue on South 16th Street and Bunsen in Belleville, while the defendant was under the influence of alcohol and during a period in which the defendant's driving privileges were revoked. Defendant had been previously convicted of driving while license is revoked on May 4, 2009.
THURSDAY, MARCH 7
Ladarcus A. Hoffman, 22, of 615 N. 80th St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery in a public place, two counts of domestic battery on March 4 by East St. Louis police. Hoffman allegedly and while Shanekra K. Williams was at/or around the bus stop on 80th and State Street in East St. Louis, a public place, knowingly made physical contact of an insulting nature in that the defendant grabbed her on or about her body; and knowingly made physical contact with Williams, a family/household member, in that he dragged her by the leg; and pushed her down.
Michael Foxworth Jr., 660 N. 38th St., Belleville, arrested on suspicion of two counts of prerdatory criminal sexual assault and two counts of criminal sexual abuse between May 1 and May 31 by Belleville police. Foxworth allegedly committed an act of sexual assault with a female minor, date of birth May 24, 2000; and knowingly committted an act of sexual conduct with a female minor, date of birth May 24, 2000.
Justin A. Cruse, 29, of 903 Juniper, O'Fallon, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, aggravated fleeing and attempted to elude a police officer and driving while driver's license is revoked on March 5 by St. Clair County sheriff. Cruse allegedly had in his possession less than 5 grams of a substance containing methamphetamine; drove a black 2001 Ford Mustang, and was given a visual signal by a police officer, Tim Lay, who was in police uniform and driving a vehicle which displayed illuminated, oscillating, rotating or flashing red or blue lights when when used in conjunction with an audible horn or siren would indicate the vehicle to be an official police vehicle, directing the defendant to bring said vehicle to a stop, willfully fled or attempted to elude the police officer and that when willfully fleeing or attempting to elude the police officer, the defendant disobeyed two or more traffic control devices, being stop signs; and drove a black 2001 Ford Mustang on North 17th St. in Belleville, at a time when defendant's driver's license was revoked.
Christopher M. Toombs, 34, of 23 N. Main St., Caseyville, arrested on suspicion of failure to register as a sex offender, subsequent on Feb. 25 by St. Clair County sheriff. Toombs allegedly failed to register in accordance with the provisions of the Sex Offender Registration Act, with the chief of police of Caseyville, within three days of establishing a residence within that city. Defendant had been previously convicted of the Sex Offender Registration Act on Oct. 12, 2011.
Justin A. Cruse, 29, of 903 Juniper, O'Fallon, arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery, bodily harm on Feb. 25 by St. Clair County sheriff. Cruse allegedly strangled Camille M. Sanders, a family/household member, by grabbing her by the throat or neck and applying pressure, intentionally impeded normal breathing or circulation of blood; and head-butted Sanders.
Steven K. Atkinson, 51, of 1846 Witte Road, O'Fallon, arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery, domestsic battery, physical contact, domestic battery and interference to report domestic violence on March 6 by St. Clair County sheriff. Atkinson allegedly strangled Amber Nappier, a family/household member, by placing his hands around the throat or neck and applying pressure, did intentionally impede the normal breathing or circulation of blood; grabbed her about her body; pushed her down; attempted to prevent her from calling 911 emergency service by grabbing the phone from Nappier.

FEDERAL COURT
FRIDAY, March 1
Anthony Montez Taylor, 45, of East St. Louis, was sentenced Friday in federal court to 12 years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release, fined $400 and a special assessment of $100. Taylor had previously entered a plea of guilty to a single count of possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.
Michael A. Cooper, 27, of Centreville, was sentenced on Friday in federal court to six years in prison on one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon. Cooper had previously pleaded guilty, admitted that he had possessed several guns, knowing that he was a convicted felon and that it was illegal for him to possess the guns.
Chris L. Hibbler, 44, of East St. Louis, was sentenced Friday in federal court to 27 months in prison for unlawful possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon. Hibbler was also ordered to pay a $250 fine and a $100 special assessment. He must also serve a term of three years of supervised release following imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. Hibbler has been in custody since July 2012.
