The following report appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

SUNDAY

9:18 p.m. DISTURBANCE-POSSESSION OF CANNABIS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - 4000 Block of W. Main St. Officers received a report of a disturbance at Circle K, 2709 W. Main. Officers were advised the parties and vehicles involved a green Cavalier and a blue Dodge truck, left the scene. Officers observed the Cavalier traveling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Ashlee R. Bridger, 24, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant and was found to be in possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Darius L. Pierce, 18, was intoxicated and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bridger and Pierce were transported to headquarters and later transported to court.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.
