Am I switching parties?

Published: March 13, 2013

I don't put much stock in the Sound-off column due to the fact that callers aren't man or woman enough to sign their name; all they want to do is spread rumors and lies that create division.

Being self-employed most of my life, I've found it's better to look at the person rather than race, religion, political party or sex. Although I'm still a conservative Republican, St. Clair Township has been a bipartisan entity in the past and we need to keep it that way.

I'd like to get the sewer issues resolved with Swansea. The current supervisor, clerk and one trustee are not even affected by the decisions regarding St. Clair Township sewer rates at their place of residence.

I'm running for supervisor to improve our community -- not for elite benefits and pensions. I'd like to see our meetings packed with constituents who want to have a voice in the everyday items that affect all of us.

We can see what is happening now when one party rules or both parties can't come together locally or nationally. A prominent Republican spoke on the radio stating that he is considering forming a coalition with the Democrats. If that's the case, I'm ahead of the curve.

If you want to get things accomplished, you have to be able to work with others, something that I feel the present supervisor isn't doing.
