Belleville East High School's Malcolm Hill, a University of Illinois recruit, earned Class 4A first-team all-state honors Thursday when the Associated Press released its Class 3A-4A All-State Basketball teams.

Cahokia senior guard Keenan Minor and East St. Louis senior guard Deshawn Munson both were first-team all-state selections in Class 3A.

Edwardsville senior guard and Western Illinois University recruit Garret Covington was second-team all-state in 4A and teammate Tre' Harris earned honorable mention status.

Cahokia junior Darius Austin was honorable mention in 3A.

Hill averaged 25.3 points and 6.1 rebounds, helping the Lancers to a Southwestern Conference championship and 24-4 record. He was the third-leading vote-getter in 4A all-state voting behind Chicago Simeon's Jabari Parker and Chicago Whitney Young's Jahlil Okafor.

Minor (21.7 ppg, 98 3-pointers) and Munson (17.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 8.31 assists per game) each helped their teams reach the Mascoutah Sectional title game and Cahokia has advanced to the state tournament in Peoria.

Covington (18.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, 100 3-pointers) and Harris (17.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game) each helped Edwardsville reach the 4A Final Four.

Austin, one of the top junior recruits in Illinois, is averaging 11.8 points and five rebounds for Cahokia.
