Metro-east residents eager for a taste of spring weather ought to get a serving Friday.

The National Weather Service predicts a high temperature of 72 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

But don't ask for a second helping.

The temperature is expected to reach only 51 degrees on Saturday and skies will be mostly cloudy. A 50 percent chance of showers will move in during the evening hours.

The chance of rain increases to 60 percent on Sunday when the high will only reach 43 degrees.
