The following report appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

THURSDAY

8:06 p.m. BATTERY - 100 block of S. 89th Street. Officers responded to an area hospital for the report of a battery. The victim, a 42-year-old female, reported at 5:05 p.m. she exited her vehicle at her residence and was attacked for unknown reasons by three unknown females.

9:32 p.m. ARMED ROBBERY - S. High at E. Washington. The victim, a 38-year-old female, reported as she entered her vehicle on the parking lot, a male approached the driver's door, opened it, and pointed a handgun at her. The suspect demanded her purse, and then fled the area in a vehicle. A vehicle matching the description was located near West Boulevard and Fair Oaks. As officers approached two males fled from the vehicle on foot.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.
