BELLEVILLE — Both Belleville Public Library locations will be closed from April 1 to 8 to install new computer software.
The libraries will install Polaris to replace the current Millenium circulation program.
Similar updates will occur at more than 400 other libraries that are part of the Sharing Heartland's Available Resources Equally in Southern Illinois.
Outstanding requests for materials and reading histories cannot be transferred to the new system. Therefore, the libraries temporarily have suspended hold requests. Patrons will have to make another request for those materials.
The Belleville libraries at 121 E. Washington St. and 3414 W. Main St. will reopen April 9.
