— The following report appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

FRIDAY

6:49 p.m. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY - 500 block of E. McKinley. The victim, a 56-year-old man, reported while he was in his yard where he was approached by an unknown juvenile, a 14-year-old boy, who began talking with the victim. The suspect approached the victim with a brick and asked for all his money. When the victim told him no, the suspect threw the brick hitting the victim in the head and fled on foot.

SATURDAY

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Officers located a hypodermic needle in the restroom.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.
