Look at Skip Kernan's record when he was a Swansea trustee before voting for him as a candidate in the upcoming election for St. Clair Township highway commissioner.
When Kernan was elected as a Swansea trustee, the first thing he did was give himself a raise. The second thing he did was to bamboozle the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund into qualifying him for state-backed pension fund benefits. Next, he helped implement the biggest tax increase in the history of Swansea. Finally, he was instrumental in increasing sewer rates for residents by 61 percent between 2005 and 2008.
Swansea residents finally voted Kernan out of office in 2011. Is this the type of man you want for your next St. Clair Township highway commissioner?
