Frankly I'm getting tired of the selection of the leader of the first cult of Christendom. It has gotten so far away from the original intent of the church Jesus Christ brought into being and founded by 12 apostles and many disciples of our Lord.

The Roman Catholic Church has adopted the worship of other persons is off the wall. The worship and veneration of Mary, the mother of Jesus. and other so-called saints was to give the early Romans who worshiped multiple gods a feeling of inclusiveness.

Why the Catholic Churck does not allow their priests to marry is beyond me. Many of the apostles were married (including Peter, the one the Catholic Church calls its first pope).

The Roman Catholic Churck and the Eastern Orthodox have many of the same failings in getting so far away from the way the early New Testament church operated.

The Catholic Church has many phony titles: pope, cardinal, archbishop, etc. Most of the titles in the New Testament times were not individual but one person sometimes fulfilled more than one role. For example, pastor and bishop meant nearly the same thing.

Real Christians are "born again," finding that they were lost and steeped in sin. When individuals found that Jesus had died to give them a new life, they repented, asked God's forgiveness, confessed their belief in Jesus Christ as their savior and were baptized for the forgiveness of their sinful way. They become "born again" into a new life and are filled with the Holy Spirit.
