A recent letter by Bev Mattison may seem factual but her rhetoric is off the mark. Whether TIF funds have or have not been dispersed is purely academic. The notion of giving $25,000 of TIF funds to a wealthy businessman is absolutely preposterous.
Second, the court-ordered Summit Springs settlement is common knowledge, but my point was to direct the wasteful TIF spending of this city and others.
As for infrastructure improvement in the west end, it is truly quite laughable considering the west end did not ask for sewers. It was forced upon the residents and does nothing to improve the value of land. Sewers and gutters do not bring tax revenue to the city.
I also clearly recall that my letter did not mention Norm Miller nor is achievements for west end residents. By the way, I did check and do know the status of District 110's views upon the annexation of the west end and have spoken to the major players. Not once has Aldermen Pat Baeske, Sandy Baldwin or Josh Frawley been involved in the meetings.
The city leaders' lack of involvement clearly shows their disregard for the 457 property owners in the west end and their school children.
It appears to me that Mattison's lap dog letter is more of a campaign tactic for Baeske than a letter of genuine concern for west end residents. Perhaps she should be running for an aldermanic seat since she obviously thinks she knows it all.
