Belleville residents will get an update on the west end streetscape improvement project at a town hall meeting Thursday.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Signal Hill Fire Department board room, 329 Hazel Ave.
Ward 4 Alderman Tim Carpenter said there will be a review of the initial project plans and discussion of future funding for the project.
The West Main Gateway Streetscape Project was planned for West Main Street from Illinois 157 to 95th Street.
The project, which includes new asphalt, banner poles, ornamental lighting and new sidewalks, has been on hold as the city awaits funding. The mimimum estimate in 2007 for the project was $2 million.
The regularly west end meetings include Carpenter, Ward 4 Alderman Dean Hardt, and Ward 8 Aldermen James Musgrove and Joe Orlet.
