A Pierron teenager has been charged with drug induced homicide for allegedly giving heroin to a Troy teen who later died, according to a news release from Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons.
Elizabeth F. Brown, 19, faces between six and 30 years in prison and is currently in custody at the Madison County Jail in Edwardsville.
Brown allegedly gave Charles T. Gammon, 18, heroin the morning of March 22. Police were unable to revive Gammon when he was found unresponsive at 9:06 a.m. that day in his home.
Gibbons said he was disappointed heroin claimed another life in the metro-east.
"This drug continues to bring nothing but heartbreak to our families, and I will continue pursuing those people responsible for poisoning our communities with it," Gibbons said.
