I have personally and professionally known Fairview Heights aldermanic candidate Lydia Cruez for 20-plus years. She was a dynamic and ardent supporter of the Senior AIDES Program, an employment and training program for senior citizens for more than 20 years and served on its advisory council. She now serves on the advisory council for the Foster Grandparent program and has given of herself and her money to both programs.
She is always a worker, too, as seen by her many years of spearheading the annual Fairview Heights Senior Day in the Park. She is a kind, intelligent and caring person and truly listens to people about their problems.
When she previously served on the City Council, she always thought for herself and weighed the best options. She is a pleasure to know and I like working with her because she cares and works hard for what she believes in.
I highly recommend her as a dedicated leader and as a honest person.
