On Feb. 26, my son and I ate lunch at a popular local restaurant. Later that afternoon we both got sick from food poisoning. Neither of us ate anything before or after. I called the next day to report this and was told the restaurant had to report it to their insurance company for them to take care of it. Nothing happened. I called repeatedly about getting the charge taken off my card, to no avail. I'm sure they get some false claims, but mine isn't one of them.
On March 25, I was told that when the restaurant turns the claim over to the insurance company, the restaurant is under no obligation to refund my money. Sounds like a pretty good scam to me. I was told I could get a free gift card. How is it free if I still have to pay my $71 for it? Besides, we have no desire to go back there any time soon, if at all. All we want is our money refunded on the credit card.
I'm sure others may have gotten sick that didn't put two and two together. As of now, it's been more than a month of putoffs and I still owe $71 on my credit card.
