The Madison County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in identifying a suspect believed to have been involved in an armed bank robbery in Alhambra Tuesday afternoon.
"The investigation is ongoing and we are following up on leads," said Madison County Sheriff's Lt. Kris Tharp. "We are asking anyone with any information about the robbery or the suspect to contact the sheriff's office."
The bank was robbed at 1:43 p.m. by a man with a gun. According to police, the suspect, who is described as a black man wearing a gray hoodie, white hat and dark pants, walked through the front door of the National Bank at 502 E. Main St. in Alhambra waving a gun and demanded cash from an employee.
The employee complied with the demand and the man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.
The man is described as being about 6-foot tall with a slender build.
