Don't pass on right to vote

April 17, 2013

On April 9 I cast my ballot at 3 p.m. I was number 77. Only 77 voters by 3 o'clock.

The BND reported that only 24 percent of registered voters in Belleville participated. Those people who did not vote should be ashamed. Think of all the people who sacrificed life and limb for this right and people just blow it off -- they might as well have spit in the faces of those who sacrificed. Shame on all those slackers.

People shouldn't ever pass on their right to be heard and make a difference. It counts. It honors those who gave so much to secure this right.
