Trooper Deatherage Rally -- Saturday, Ted's Motorcycle World, Alton. Illinois State Police Trooper Kyle Deatherage was on a routine traffic stop when he was struck and killed by a tractor trailor truck. He is survived by wife Sarah and two young children. All vehicles are welcome at 80-mile rally that will start in Alton and end in Troy. Sign up at Ted's from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Ted's will feature food and live entertainment. Play cards for the rally will be one for $10 or 3 for $20 with cash prizes for high totals at the end location of Tri-Township Park in Troy. Festivities at the park include bounce houses, face painting, clowns, child fingerprinting, Fredbird and Gateway Grizzlies Mascot from 4 to 5 p.m., ISP Honor Guard presentation of the colors at 5 p.m., live auction, silent auction, 50/50 drawing, food, beverages. Music by Atomic Taco from 6 to 10 p.m. All proceeds to go the Deatherage family.

"Sounds of Courage" -- 3 p.m. Sunday, Mascoutah High School Auditorium, 1313 W. Main St., Mascoutah. Northwinds Concert Band presents the American premiere of "Sounds of Courage," a new work by Austrian composer Otto M. Schwarz. The composition honors members of the White Rose, a group of young people who risked their lives opposing Hitler. The White Rose Group also is featured in a photo exhibit called "Long Live Freedom," which will be displayed in the high school from 2:30 to 5 p.m. through April 23.
