Alvin F. and Pauline L. Bietsch of Belleville celebrated their 60th anniversary on April 27th, 2013 with family and friends at Fischer’s Restaurant in Belleville.

Alvin Bietsch and the former Pauline Schmidt were married on April 11th, 1953 at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Belleville, Illinois by Father Kuhl.

Alvin is a retired sheet metal worker and was a greeter at Renner Funeral Home and is active as secretary and former president of Sheet Metal Workers retirees - Local 268, and is an usher at St. Teresa Catholic Church.

Pauline is a housewife and is active in the Sheet Metal Workers retirees - Local 268, bingo and card clubs.

They have 4 children: Janet (Norman) Joellenbeck of Red Bud, Illinois; Michael (Debbie) Bietsch of Columbia, Missouri; Donna Bietsch of Belleville, Illinois; and Ronald (Julie) Bietsch of Newbury Park, California.

They have 5 grandchildren: Matthew (Kati) Bietsch, Kristin Bietsch, Andrew Bietsch, Lori Bietsch and Tyler Bietsch.

They have 1 great-grandchild: Abrielle Bietsch.
