Two Alton residents have been sentenced in federal court for their roles in the overdose death of a 23-year-old Alton man.

Tyrone L. Adams, 33, and Cara L. Moss, 26, were each sentenced Monday in the U.S. District Court in East St. Louis for selling Leonard O. Hormann III the heroin on which he overdosed and died. The pair both pled guilty Jan. 15. Hormann bought the heroin Aug. 20, 2012 and died of an overdose the same day, authorities said.

Adams was sentenced to 15 years. Moss received a 10 year sentence. They were both eligible to receive a life sentence if the cases had gone to trial.
