I firmly agree with letter writers who are disgusted with people who did not vote and the low voter turnout in our area in our last election. I recently saw a sign that said, "If you did not vote, then do not complain."
Perhaps apathy is prevalent in our area\ due to the type and quality of our local government, but casting a vote at least amounts to an effort made toward what is desired.
A Chinese proverb so states: "It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness." I think that bit of philosophy should be impressed upon all people who did not vote. After all, a vote cast is a candle lit -- even against any amount of darkness.
