Wednesday is deadline for Congressional Prayer Breakfast tickets

— Former Cardinals pitcher Andy Benes is set to serve as the keynote speaker at the 15th Annual Congressional Prayer Breakfast, set for 7:15 a.m. Monday at the Gateway Center in Collinsville.

The deadline for buying the tickets is Wednesday. Prices are $160 for a table of eight, or $20 each and can be obtained by calling 463-6850. All major credit cards are accepted with an additional $1 handling fee.

The Christian Businessmen's Connection is sponsoring the event. Steve Jankowski, director of alumni affairs at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, will serve as the master of ceremonies.

The purpose of the annual bi-partisan event is to increase spiritual participation in all aspects of the community. U.S. Reps. John Shimkus, R-Collinsville, Bill Enyart, D-Belleville, and Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, are co-chairs of the breakfast and are scheduled to attend.
