Metro-east residents will get a break Thursday from soggy weather that has kept farmers out of their fields and caused rivers and streams to rise.
But it will be a short break.
The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and a high temperature of 60 degrees Thursday. A 60 percent chance of rain is back in the forecast Friday with a high of 62 degrees.
A 30 percent chance of showers is expected Saturday with a high of 64.
The high temperature is expected to be 69 degrees under mostly sunny skies Sunday. The extended forecast calls for warmer temperatures to move into the area next week.
