Debt no longer seems bad to Obama

April 25, 2013

In a campaign speech on July 3, 2008, in Fargo, N.D., candidate Barack Obama said, "The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents -- number 43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back -- $30,000 for every man, woman and child."

Later, at another venue while giving the same rehearsed speech he stated, "That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic."

Just a quick reminder, we are now quickly closing in on $17 trillion in national debt.

Fast forward to just a few weeks ago, when Obama said, "We don't have a debt crisis in terms of debt. In fact, over the next 10 years, it's gonna be in a sustainable place." How convenient.

It's amazing how quickly they change their position when they are in power.
