Matt Adams goes on disabled list

Posted by Scott Wuerz on April 26, 2013

The Cardinals initially thought Matt Adams was only going to miss a few games.

But, in another example of the team downplaying an injury, it now turns out that Adams has an oblique tear and he has been placed on the disabled list. No word on how long Adams is going to be out. But, if the team said, would you believe it anyway.

The Redbirds didn't use the roster spot to call up any of their flashy prospects. Nor did they recall infielder Ryan Jackson who was already on the 40-man roster. Instead, they called up Class AAA utility player Jermaine Curtis who was batting .292 with three doubles a triple and a homer.
