The following festivals occur during July 2013 in the metro-east.

July

3 -- Car Cruise. 5-9 p.m., Dandy Inn, 1030 Lincoln Highway, Fairview Heights. No outside food or beverages allowed.

4 -- Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration. 4-10 p.m., Scheve Park, Mascoutah. Music performances including the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America, old-fashioned craft vendors, food, kids games, pony rides, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

4 -- Liberty Bell of the West Patriotic Celebration. 12:30 p.m., Kaskaskia Island. Ringing of the bells for liberty, Frech Marines salute. Traditional food available.

4 -- Dupo Picnic in the Park. Dupo Community Park. Food and drink booths, kids games, rides. Music from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Kingdom of Solis, 7 p.m.; kickball and washer tournaments. Fireworks display at dusk.

4 -- Steeleville July Fourth. American Legion Park and City Hall Park. Carnival rides, food stands, bands, beer and poker stands. Crafts stands. Parade. Fireworks at 10 p.m.

4 -- Alhambra Fireworks. Food and fireworks.

4 -- Highland Fireworks. Vendors and family fun.

4 -- Granite City Fireworks. Wilson Park.

4-6 -- July Fourth Celebration. Malcolm W. Martin Memorial Park, Mississippi Riverfront, 185 Trendley Ave., East St. Louis. Great view of the Fair St. Louis fireworks and air show. Family-friendly event. Radio Disney's Road Crew, Scott Air Force Band, magicians, jugglers, face painting.

6 -- St. Michael's Church Picnic. 3 p.m., St. Michael's Church, 4576 Buss Branch Road, Paderborn. All-you-can-eat fried chicken dinner, hand-stitched quilt bingo, raffle, picnic attractions. Masses at 3:30 and 5 p.m.

7 -- World's Largest Catsup Bottle Birthday. 10 a.m.-5 p.m., grounds of American Legion Post 365, 1022 Vandalia, Collinsville. Children's pageant, car, truck and motorcycle show. Bands, vendors, kids activities, hot dog-eating contest, old-fashioned birthday party games, Hula-Hoop contest, water balloon toss. Quarter Draw Band, 3 p.m.

7-13 -- Fayette County Fair. Brownstown.

9-13 -- Washington County Fair. Nashville.

10 -- Prairie du Rocher Party in the Park. 7 p.m., city park. Music by Acoustic Asylum, food. Free; donations for musical guests. In case of rain, moves to American Legion Hall.

10 -- Car Cruise. 5-9 p.m., Dandy Inn, 1030 Lincoln Highway, Fairview Heights. No outside food or beverages allowed. First 100 cars get free, commemorative plaques.

12 -- Tour de Belleville Bike Ride, 9 p.m., Belleville bike trails. Both the 6-mile and 15-mile routes start and finish at Union United Methodist Church parking lot at 721 E. Main St. $15 per rider; tourdebelleville.com.

12-13 -- Smithton Turner Picnic. 4 p.m.-1 a.m., Smithton Turner Park, 15 N. Julia St., Smithton. Music by Whiskey Dixon 8 p.m.-midnight Friday. Washer tournament, 1 p.m Saturday; music by American Idle Band, 8 p.m.-midnight Saturday.

12-13 -- St. John the Baptist Picnic, 515 Locust St., Red Bud. Friday: fish dinner, 5 p.m. in air-conditioned parish center; music by Nick Rhodes and Hunter Beattie, 7-11 p.m.; bingo, 7 p.m. Saturday: 5K Knights of Columbus Red Bud Round (5K competitive run, 5K Walk/Run); All-you-can-eat chicken dinner buffet, 3-7 p.m.; bingo, 6:30 p.m., music by Chris Murry, 7-11 p.m. Raffles, country store, adult and kids games.

12-13 -- Lebanon Fireman's Picnic. 5 p.m.-midnight. Parade at 6 p.m. both days. Music, food, carnival rides.

12-13 -- Firemen's Homecoming. Firemen's Park, Maryville. Parade Friday and Saturday evenings. Food, beer, bands, rides, games.

12-20 -- Randolph County Fair, Sparta.

13 -- Great Kaskaskia Duck Race. West Spillway Recreation Area, Carlyle Lake. Watch truckloads of rubber ducks be dumped from the dam to race down the Kaskaskia River. Adopt a duck for $5 at the Carlyle Lake Visitor's Center.

13-14 -- Contemporary Indian Art Show. 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site. Juried show and sale of fine art by Native American artists. Free.

14-20 -- Clinton County Fair. Fairgrounds, Carlyle. Agricultural products, livestock, carnival rides, games, tractor pulls, food.

17 -- Car Cruise. 5-9 p.m., Dandy Inn, 1030 Lincoln Highway, Fairview Heights. No outside food or beverages allowed.

20 -- Ruma Tractor Ride & Show. Ruma Park. Ride participants go on 20-mile ride around the area. Barbecue and tractor games. Free admission.

20-21 -- Quilt Show. 11 a.m.-5 p.m., St. Francis of Assisi Parish Center, Second and Clinton streets, Aviston. Admission $3.

21-28 -- Monroe County Fair, Waterloo.

23-28 -- Madison County Fair, Lindendale Park, Highland. Agricultural product and livestock displays, arts and crafts, carnival rides, bands, stock car races, tractor pull, demolition derby and 4-H show. Free admission.

24 -- Prairie du Rocher Party in the Park. 7 p.m., city park. Music by Mitzi McDonald's Celtic Sound, food. Free; donations for musical guests. In case of rain, moves to American Legion Hall.

24 -- Car Cruise. 5-9 p.m., Dandy Inn, 1030 Lincoln Highway, Fairview Heights. No outside food or beverages allowed.

25-27 -- Troy Lions Club Homecoming. Parade 7 p.m. Friday; 6 p.m. Saturday.

26-28 -- American Farm Heritage Days, Greenville. Tractorcade and farm heritage demonstrations. Kids can ride the train, play tractor games and other activities, food, crafts, petting zoo. Admission $5 per car.

27 -- St. Joseph Church Picnic, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Middle and Chartrand streets, Prairie du Rocher. Fried chicken dinners in air-conditioned hall, 3 p.m.; carry-outs available. Handmade quilt and cash bingo, 6 p.m. Country store, crafts, games for all ages, raffle. Inflatables. Mass at 4:15 p.m. No personal coolers or lunch baskets allowed.

27 -- Jeff Staley Memorial Poker Run. Sign up at M&M Custom Cycles, 506 Vandalia, Collinsville, between 10 a.m. and noon. Final stop by 6 p.m. Jeff Staley was construction worker killed in a highway construction zone in 2006. Motorcycles, cars, vans, trucks welcome. $20 includes T-shirt and first poker hand. $5 each additional hand. Raffles, 50/50s, attendance prizes for everyone. Free food at VFW. Proceeds go to the Jeff Staley Safety Foundation.

27 -- Dupo-East Carondelet Lions Club Craft Fair. 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Sacred Heart Church, 100 S. Third St., Dupo. Santa pictures available. Ladies Auxiliary will offer sweets for sale.

27 -- Hummingbird Festival. 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Lewis and Clark State Historic Site, Hartford. Free. Adopt and release a hummingbird.

27-28 -- Great Train Expo. Belle-Clair Fairgrounds, Belleville.

28 -- St. Elizabeth Church Picnic. 11 a.m.-8 p.m., St. Elizabeth Church grounds, North Windmill Street, Marine. Chicken dinner, $9.50 adults; $4 children under 12; under 6 free. Refreshments, basket stand, country store, childrens games, cake walk, bingo.

30 -- St. Boniface Church Picnic. 306 Munster St., Germantown. Chicken and pork roast dinner, quilt bingo, kids rides, concessions, raffle.

31 -- Car Cruise. 5-9 p.m., Dandy Inn, 1030 Lincoln Highway, Fairview Heights. No outside food or beverages allowed.
