Major Case Squad activated in 'suspicious' O'Fallon death

— A death in a quiet O'Fallon neighborhood caused activation of the Major Case Squad.

O'Fallon Police were called to the 1300 block of Engle Court at 10:46 a.m. Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, the Major Case Squad's assistance was requested, according to O'Fallon Det. Patrick Feldhake.

Engle Court is a small cul-de-sac in a residential neighborhood of O'Fallon. Other than a lone police car parked by the house at the corner of Engle Court and Engle Creek, there was no further sign anything had happened there.

Feldhake said the Major Case Squad did not intend to release anything further on the investigation until at least Monday. He did confirm that the squad was investigating a "suspicious death," but did not release the name of the victim or the circumstances.

The Major Case Squad is a cooperation of local law enforcement in the St. Louis region that is invited into local jurisdictions on major cases that require significant manpower and expertise, usually homicide.
